"You know, Lex – you should have fucked me when I was sixteen. Things would have been so much better if you had."

He looked up; the hulking figure was in the shadows, but he'd know the voice if it came to him through any form of communication.

"That would have been interesting. Of course, I wouldn't have lived long, once Jonathan found out. Why are you here Superman?"

The figure shifted. The sound of work boots scraping on the floor was the only reply for a long minute.

"I've been offered a chance to go back. I just need to know if I should give it a try. Did you want me then? Did you really care about me?"

"To quote an old movie 'I would die for you, if you'd believed in me'. I told you that I'd do anything for my friends. One would have thought you’d noticed that I did everything I could to give you what you wanted."

"You took her…"

"I've heard this refrain before. I took nothing. You pushed her away."

"She died because…"

"Don't fucking go there, or I will allow Mercy to shoot you."

"You're right. There was no way anyone could know that she would die in childbirth."

There was silence for several long minutes. Then the sound of feet shuffling came again. "So, you would have died for me? I was important to you."

"I'm tired, too tired to stroke your ego. I told you the truth, I have nothing more for you."

"Okay. You've made my decision for me."

There was a bit of additional noise and then Lex was alone again. He stood up and moved across the room. A soft cry sounded from the monitor on his desk and he dropped the glass he was about to fill and ran from the room. Less than a minute later he was lifting his daughter into his arms.

"Papa!" she wailed as he rocked her gently.

"Hush, baby. Papa won't let anyone hurt you."

When she slept again, he rose and pulled out his cell phone.

"Mercy, we're going on a trip. I think my daughter needs to see windmills and wear wooden shoes."

"Boss?"

"I need to get away from here, there are just too many memories."

"Okay, Boss. I'll get everything ready."

Clark had learned a lot in the six years that he and Lex had been estranged. Most of the lessons had been harsh and a few downright painful. One thing had become abundantly clear.

Life without Lex was far less entertaining than it was with him. And Clark missed the only friend he'd ever had who didn't judge him, even when Clark had let so many bad things happen to the man he should have protected.

As Clark entered the fortress, the voice of his mother spoke.

"Kal-El, he is planning on leaving the country."

"I've made the decision."

"You are sure, my son?"

"Yes."

"Ka-El, there is no return from this."

He sighed softly, then he stepped into the chamber. .

Lex Luthor was sixteen and cocky as only the very rich ever manage. His every need gratified in a very short time, the physical ones anyway. His emotional needs had never been met. Anything he wanted, cars, drugs, sex -  if he wanted it, he got it.

He lounged back against the booth with the boy he had picked up for the evening. Boys were the latest thing, another way to piss off the paternal unit.

It was busy for a Wednesday, but even through the crowd Lex spotted the new guy when he entered the room. He prowled with the grace of a panther, tall and broad and barely dressed. The climate didn't exactly lend itself to the lack of clothing, but he looked comfortable.

Lex kissed the boy next to him and pressed a wad of bills into his hand. "Find someone to dance with, I have something to do."

The boy looked at the money and smiled, before heading toward the bar.

Lex slipped from the booth and made his way toward the newcomer. Lex was a few feet away when the man spotted him. There was a flair of heat and then the man moved toward him.

Leaning down he took Lex's earlobe between his teeth and bit down. A jolt of pure pleasure ran down Lex's spine and he moaned softly. Lex melted against the man, strong hands gripped his ass and lifted him up against that strong body.

"So - are you going home with me?"

"Yeah!" Lex wrapped his legs around the man's body as he was carried from the hash bar.

He was touring Europe for the summer, hash bars hadn't been on the list the travel agent had given Lionel, but then most of Lex's recent activity would have never been on Lionel's list of things his heir should accomplish.

Lex was sure that when his father got wind of this episode that his jet setting days would come to an end. He only hoped that would mean a return to college. They had entered a side street that was far from the crowds. Lex stiffened slightly when the man looked at him and his eyes appeared red.

"Don't worry, little Lexy. If I wanted to hurt you it would have happened already. I plan to save you."

"Save me?" Lex's voice broke like a girl's as he was carried into the air.

Lex clung to the man carrying him as they flew above the town and out over the ocean.

"What are you…How is…Where are we…"

"I'm an alien. It's possible because I come from a planet with a red star and the yellow sun gives me power. We're going to my place."

"Okay."

Clark smiled as he wondered if it would have been this easy in Smallville. When he touched down in the fortress and set Lex on his feet, he watched as the boy wandered around, touching hesitantly and then growing bolder when nothing caused him injury.

"Kal-El, he is so young."

"He is of mating age by Kryptonian standards."

"Mating age?"

"Lex Luthor, intended one of Kal-El, come to the chamber and be prepared."

"What the fuck?"

"Just do it, Lex. Have faith."

Lex looked into the man's eyes and saw only acceptance, desire. He turned and walked toward the chamber that had opened on one side of the large room. As the door slid closed he saw a soft smile crook the corners of Kal's mouth.

The light pulsed in the chamber for a long time and when the door opened Clark rushed forward to lift the unconscious boy from the floor. As he carried Lex to the bed, Lara spoke.

"It is done, Kal-El. I hope you are sure about this course of action."

"I'm sure."

"He may not be pleased with the changes."

"He need not know, at least not for a while."

"He is a fine specimen. He will be worthy of standing at your side, my son. Especially, with the enhancements I gave him."

Later when Lex woke, Clark was curled around him, already buried in his heat, thrusting slow and deep.

"Hey. I missed something."

"Yeah, I started without you, hope that's okay."

Clark bucked forward and Lex let out a loud moan. "Fuck, you're hung."

"You'll get used to it."

"I bet I will."

Lex lifted his leg up to rest over Clark's thighs, giving him room to move freely. As Clark took advantage of the increase in access to push in even deeper, a shiver rocked Lex's slight frame.

Clark continued to go slow until Lex began to demand, 'more, harder, faster, deeper'. He manhandled Lex onto his back and moved between his legs. Lex wrapped his legs around Clark's body and bucked up.

The change in position allowed Clark to plow against Lex's prostate. Neither of them lasted long after that.

Clark kept him there for a week. When he took him back they landed at night near Lex's hotel. As he let go, Lex stepped back.

"If it’s Tuesday it must be Belgium…"

"Holland." Clark said before he picked up on Lex's dejection. "This isn't over."

"Sure."

"I have to leave you now. I'd rather not, but I have to." Clark reached out and cupped the boy's face. "I'll be there when you need me again. Have faith."

Lex suddenly threw himself against Clark. Clark lifted him and they shared a long, deep kiss. When it ended, Lex allowed Clark to set him on his feet.

"I'll never forget you."

"I'm counting on that."

Lex watched as his daughter clomped across the floor of the hotel room. The wooden shoes clunky, making her gait awkward. She seemed to realize he was watching and looked up at him.

"Papa, when will we be going to see the tulips?"

"Soon, baby. We're going to have lunch first."

He looked down when his laptop pinged at him.

::Sorry, got caught up saving Lois::

::I'm having that bitch killed::

::You're cranky::

::You promised to be here by now::

::Soon::

As Lex reached out to type a reply strong arms wrapped around him.

"Where's our eldest?"

"Probably out picking up strange men or women in hash bars."

"Lex!"

"Well it worked out for me."

Clark planted a loud kiss on his bald head, and then looked over to where their daughter was still clomping in her wooden shoes.

"You spoil her, you know."

"She's our daughter, Clark. She'll be fine."

"Yeah, I know she will. Lily, is my lunch ready?"

"I'll tell them we're ready."

She turned and walked quickly out of the room while yelling for Mercy.

"So what was Lois doing today?"

"We're on vacation, let's not talk about Lois."

As Lex turned, Clark bent and kissed him. When he pulled back, Lex had the look on his face that he's had the first time they kissed.

"It's our anniversary."

"No it isn't."

"Yes it is, seventeen years ago today, you saved me."

"Did I?"

"Yeah."

"Huh?"

"Thank you."

"Pleasure was all mine."

"Not all yours." Lex leered at him.

Clark moaned as that look shot down his spine, wrapped under his ass and tightened his balls.

"I hate you."

"I know. I love you too."

"Papa, Daddy, hurry up I want lunch so we can go see the tulips."

"We'll be right there, baby."

"I want to pick up some bulbs for Mom, if they have any colors she can't get at the nursery."

"Good idea."

"Papa! Daddy!"

"Guess we'd better get in there."

"You can take me back to your place later."

Lex slipped out of Clark's arms and danced out of the room. Clark swallowed, moaned softly and mumbled. "That man is gonna be the death of me."

A soft laugh drifted back to him and he knew Lex had heard him. Clark had made the right decision. Looking at his husband sitting next to their daughter at the table, he was glad he'd taken the chance. Lex looked up and smiled. He was also glad Lex had kept the faith.
