Challenge: CLFF Wave #30: Don’t hold me like that. – Gone With the Wind
Notes: unbetaed
Summary:
Clark needs dance lessons, Lex is happy to help.
“Don’t
hold me like that. Your arms are
like limp spaghetti, Clark. Think
of your arms as flexible steel beams, that way you can provide me with a firm
frame to support me and, at the same time, give me something to
follow.”
Lex
is well into the second day of giving his best friend dance lessons and can’t
understand why Clark is having a difficult time with this most basic principle
of the dance. Lex knew his friend
was shy, but he’d no idea that he was so lacking in
self-confidence.
Lex
remembered how well Clark had picked up the basic box step, as well as the left
and right box turn, as Lex coached from the sidelines during the first
lesson. Clark went around the grid
Lex had set up with no problems or real missteps. At first, Lex had just provided the
count, so that Clark could get used to the rhythm, then he’d added the music and
continued to count, and finally it was just Clark and the
music.
At
the end of the lesson, Lex had deemed Clark ready to move to the next level,
which was doing the same steps, but with a partner. Therefore, when Clark came in today, Lex
explained what they would be practicing.
Right away, the boy started to act nervous and unsure about the new
role. Instead of moving with
confidence, he was stepping gingerly, holding Lex like he was going to break,
and continually trying to look at the placement of their feet. Lex wasn’t sure what to do to encourage
the boy to act with more confidence.
Clark
was terrified that he was going to seriously hurt his friend with his huge feet,
or hold him too tightly, or swing him too fast or too hard. There was so much to remember for this
kind of dance, and Clark was afraid that a slip of his attention to any one
detail was going to result in an injury for Lex. He wasn’t sure what to do and thought
that maybe he should give up on this idea.
It
had been almost a week ago when Clark had come to Lex for advice on how to
improve his dancing for the waltz to be featured in the upcoming couples-only,
Valentine Day’s dance. Lex had
suggested several ways for Clark to learn what he needed to know, but Clark had
shot every one of his suggestions down as too expensive, too public, too
something.
Out
of other ideas, Lex finally suggested teaching Clark himself. Clark had started stammering because,
apparently, he didn’t want to put Lex out that much. He told Lex that he’d really just been
hoping that Lex had some books or DVDs in his vast collection that he could
learn from. Lex can’t help but
think back to the end of that conversation.
“Clark, you can’t learn to dance from
something like that, not if you don’t have some
basic knowledge to work from. You need to feel how to move with a
living partner.
If you won’t let
me hire you a partner to work with, then dancing with me is the
best
solution. It’s
been awhile since I’ve had the opportunity to use all those dance lessons
my own father
insisted on, this will give me a chance to brush up on my own skills. What
do you say
Clark?”
Lex could have said more on the topic at the time, but after a little hemming and hawing, Clark agreed to try it. Lex was surprised that dancing with another man hadn’t been one of Clark’s objections, but apparently that thought hadn’t even occurred to him. Clark’s big concern seemed to center around being a bother and taking up Lex’s valuable time. Lex could have assured him that his most valuable time was the time he spent with Clark, and that it wasn’t a bother to have a legitimate chance to hold the sexiest man Lex had ever met. However, Lex figured he should probably keep those sentiments about his fifteen-year-old best friend to himself, otherwise said best friend might run screaming from the room.
Clark’s size fourteen foot, coming down on his instep, pulls Lex from his musings with alacrity.
Clark stumbles against Lex as he frantically tries to keep from stepping on his friend again. “S-sorry, Lex. I’m so sorry. This was a bad idea. After the first lesson I thought I could do this, but I’m…I’m just hurting you. I’m too clumsy for this kind of dancing. I’d better go.”
Lex is struck into silence for a few critical seconds as he is amazed at how adorable, and at the same time sexy, Clark looks in his misery. It takes Clark trying to gently break himself out of Lex’s grip to finally bring his attention back to what was actually happening. “Clark, no. I’m fine. You didn’t hurt me.”
A lie, yes, but a white one. Lex figures that’s okay, although he’d love to know what those shoes were made of. Maybe he’ll have to insist that Clark wear some specially designed dance shoes. He can pass the gift off with another white lie, and maybe Clark would accept them. Lex can hope anyway. “You just need to relax, you’re much too tense. I just need to think of a way to help you get past your fears.”
Clark smiles slightly, and Lex enjoys even the dim version of his friend’s usually blinding grin. “We’re not gonna do something weird from out of the Dirty Dancing movie are we, Lex?”
Lex quickly lowers his gaze to hide the desire in his eyes, as he can’t help but remember a scene he’d like to reenact with Clark from that movie. He makes his tone wryly teasing to help cover the reaction that particular thought has on him. “No, Clark, I’m not going to take you out to the woods and have us prancing around in a field or wading into the water. For one thing, it’s mid-January out there.”
Lex is delighted with the response his teasing elicits. A blush spreads over Clark’s cheeks and his head dips down in embarrassment. Lex would love to have the privilege of guiding Clark’s head back up with a finger under the chin, then sliding around to cup a flushed cheek. Lex shifts a little uncomfortably and realizes that he’d better get off that train of thought now, before the effect it’s having on him becomes noticeable, even to the innocent eyes in front of him.
Lex also realizes that he was so preoccupied by his fantasy that he missed the beginning of Clark’s response to his joke. He figures he better focus and pay attention now. “…know that, Lex. I was just kidding. I thought maybe you had something like that in mind, not that we’d actually do anything from the movie itself. I never know what you’re going to come up with, after all. You’re always surprising me.”
Clark shuffles his feet a little, bites his bottom lip, and looks at Lex through his bangs. Lex just manages to bite back a gasp as the power of such an unintentionally seductive look hits him full strength. He has to force himself to not lower his gaze again. Luthor’s aren’t supposed to show such weakness after all. Lex suppresses a wry grin at the thought that Clark Kent should really come with some sort of warning for the unsuspecting, something along the lines of ‘incendiary looks ahead’ or ‘keep ten paces back when soulful eyes are in use.’ “I was teasing you, Clark. What I have in mind is actually much more mundane. I’ve been giving you the leading role, because that’s the position you’ll need to assume with your date. I think this would be easier for you if I started out leading however, at least until you get more comfortable with the steps and rhythm as you move with a partner. When you become comfortable as the follower, then I can teach you how to lead. How does that sound?”
Clark heaves a silent sigh of relief. He’s been so worried about hurting Lex, because he still wasn’t completely comfortable where his feet should go each time, so he hasn’t been able to really concentrate on the lesson. Clark knows that everything will be okay if he just follows Lex, instead of trying to lead him. He unleashes one of his biggest grins at Lex in his relief. “I’ll do whatever you say, Lex.”
Lex blinks at the gleam of Clark’s full smile and then has to bite back yet another gasp at his declaration. Lex had known that he was right, this farmboy definitely needed to come with warnings. He clears his throat before speaking, because he’s sure that his voice will give away the direction his thoughts have been taking the last few minutes. Lex doesn’t dare let Clark hear how husky it’ll sound. Clark might be innocent, maybe even naïve, but he isn’t stupid. He’d be able to figure out the meaning of a telltale sign such as that easily. “Let’s take a short snack break, Clark. Then we can start fresh when we come back.”
“Lead the way, Lex. I’ll follow you anywhere.”
He meant that innocently, Lex is sure of that. Still, Lex is pretty sure that the goddamn lack of warnings might just kill him before these lessons are done.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Thirty minutes, and one surreptitious handjob in his private bathroom, later, Lex is feeling more in control of himself and his body’s reactions to Clark. However, as he places his hand carefully in the middle of Clark’s back and begins to guide him into the proper motions, Lex has the feeling that he and his left hand are going to becoming better acquainted over the next month. Lex counts his blessings as he considers that at least this dance is not one in which he has to be plastered against his partner. He knows that he’d never make it through the lessons without giving himself away if he’d had to teach him the tango, for example.
“Okay, Clark, concentrate on how my hand feels as I guide you. This is what you’ll want to do for your partner at the dance. You should give very clear signals that let the girl know what the next move will be. If you do, you’ll keep the two of you moving smoothly, and you won’t stumble into each other. If you aren’t clear, then the dance becomes much more hazardous.”
Clark is thrilled at how much easier this is when he gives control over to Lex. He’s finding it much easier to move around the dance floor when all he has to concentrate on is the feel of Lex’s hand at his back. Clark can’t stop marveling at how it feels to swing around the floor with Lex. They are moving so smoothly together and he hasn’t stumbled in at least two full rounds. Of course, considering the fact that they’re using Lex’s office, with all the furniture pushed back, the floor is kind of small, but still, he’s riding high on his success.
Lex can feel the effect of the successful dance in Clark’s body, as his friend relaxes into the moves more and more. Lex decides to bring the practice to a close, so that Clark can end this lesson on a positive note. “You’re doing much better, Clark. You haven’t stepped on my foot once since our break ended and you’ve only stumbled a little. You’re also moving much better with the music. We’ll have a few more practices like this, until the steps and movements become more natural to you, and then we’ll switch back to you doing the leading. Before you know it, you’ll be moving just as comfortably as I do.”
Clark blushes a little in shy pleasure at the praise. The thought of moving like Lex sends a small tingle through him, but he shrugs it off without even really registering the reaction. He knows that he’ll never move like Lex, but he’ll be happy if he can keep from maiming a girl for a night. “You’re really easy to follow, Lex. You’re so confident. I don’t know if I’ll ever be as…as comfortable as you with this. Especially when it comes to leading a girl around a dance floor, they’re so small and fragile. I’m always going to be afraid of hurting them.”
Clark looks so uncertain that Lex hurries to reassure him so his fears don’t sap out all the confidence he’d gained with the successful lesson. “You do appear to be attracted to smaller girls, but don’t worry, Clark. It’s only January 13th, you have a month to practice with me, and I’m hardly small or particularly fragile. You’ll be ready to sweep your date right off of her feet in time for the dance.”
Clark can’t help speculating on what it would be like to date a girl closer to his size. It’s too bad that Lex isn’t a girl, he’d be the perfect fit. That thought causes all kinds of images to flit through his mind, and he can’t keep himself from blushing at some of them. He isn’t sure where those images came from, but he’d better banish them right now. Lex would never go for someone like him. Besides Lex is straight, and so is he…he thinks. After those thoughts, he isn’t a hundred percent sure anymore.
Lex doesn’t understand the looks of speculation, surprise, and embarrassment that cross his friend’s expressive face, and he reaches out a hand in concern. “Clark?”
The feel of Lex’s hand on his shoulder jerks Clark out of his thoughts, and he fights back another blush. Clark frantically reminds himself that Lex didn’t know what he’d been thinking. He just has to hold himself together long enough to sidetrack his friend. Clark scrambles, trying to remember what Lex had been saying. Finally, he gets past his mortification and remembers. “I don’t know if I’ll be doing any sweeping that night, but what you said about yourself is certainly true. You’re one of the toughest people I know.
Lex is unused to receiving praise, especially when it’s so freely and honestly given. Lex realizes that Clark’s words please him more than they should, and he tries to brush them aside and move past them quickly. “Thank you, Clark. I think you’ll be just fine by the dance, and Lana will be a very lucky girl.”
Clark had turned away to begin his preparations to leave, but that statement makes him stop and look back at Lex. “I’m not going with Lana, Lex. I didn’t even bother asking her. With Whitney missing in action, I wouldn’t feel right about asking her to a dance.”
“Ah, so it’s the inestimable Chloe Sullivan who’s giving you a chance again, is it? After what you said about last year’s Spring Formal, I didn’t think she’d have agreed to attend a dance with you for quite a while yet.”
Clark feels bemused by Lex’s assumptions that those are the only two girls he could be going with, but to be fair, one or the other or both did come up in almost every conversation he had with his friend. He shoulders his backpack and then turns his attention back to Lex. “No, it isn’t Chloe either. I didn’t ask anyone in fact, a girl asked me to go. Her name is Erin and I have her in a couple of classes and I’ve helped her with math sometimes. She asked me to go ‘cause she just broke up with her boyfriend, but already had her dress and stuff and doesn’t want it to go to waste. I was gonna say no, but, well, her eyes started to get all misty and I…I couldn’t…I just…”
“You couldn’t say no to a crying girl. Right, Clark?” Lex looks at Clark fondly, while inside he is wondering how he can get the devious little…sophomore…away from Clark. He tolerates Lana, Chloe, and Pete as his rivals for Clark’s friendship and attention, since they’d already been a part of Clark’s life before Lex came along, but this…Erin…is an unknown quantity and apparently isn’t above manipulations to get her own way.
Clark feels a little sheepish at being so transparent and predictable to his friend. “Yeah, that’s right, Lex. I just couldn’t turn her down while she was so upset. Then I learned about the waltz being part of the dance, and when I talked to her about it she was so excited. She said she hadn’t had the opportunity to dance something like that since her dad bought her some lessons. I tried to tell her that I didn’t know how, but every time I opened my mouth to explain, she’d gush something else or look at me with so much excitement. I couldn’t bear to disappoint her by backing out.”
Oh, Lex thought, she’s good. She knows just how to get what she wants from a nice boy like Clark, and apparently she has no scruples about doing so. Lex can usually admire that in a person, but he was beginning to realize that he wanted Clark for himself. Lex can’t help grinning a little evilly to himself, the girl might know how to handle someone like Clark, but she would be completely out of her depth now that Lex was putting himself into the ring. However, he didn’t want to do anything too awful to her. After all, she’d given him the perfect reason to be very close to Clark for the next few weeks. Maybe he could…
“I have to get going, Lex. When should I come back for my next lesson?”
Lex shakes of his budding machinations and thinks about his schedule over the next few days. If he moves that meeting, and reschedules that conference call…
“Why don’t you come back on Thursday for a short lesson after school, and then we can have a more intense session this weekend, if you don’t have too many chores to do.”
Lex savors the gift of yet another smile from Clark. “Sounds great, Lex. See you Thursday.”
Lex figures that two days should give him plenty of time to set things in motions for making Erin and her family disappear.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The ensuing lessons are experiences of enjoyable torture for Lex. Having Clark’s strong body pliant under his hands is a dream come true, knowing it will never go any further than dance lessons is a nightmare. Clark picks up the flowing motions of the dance much more quickly than Lex thought he would after that second awkward lesson. Having Clark follow wherever he leads, with no hesitation, is a heady event for the young tycoon.
After the next two lessons of being so close to Clark, with nothing amiss happening in the way of mangled feet or tumbles to the floor, Lex can’t resist pushing the physical boundaries a little more. He wants to see how close Clark will let him get during these lessons before he puts up some barriers. Lex starts to rub soothing circles on Clark’s back as they dance.
Clark stumbles for the first time in two lessons at the feeling of Lex’s hand rubbing his back. “Lex!” He stops to clear his throat and Lex stifles a chuckle at the squeak Clark made of his name.
With Clark’s stumble the dance comes to a halt, so Lex releases him and takes a step back. “Yes, Clark?” Lex knows he can play innocent with the best of them, although he’s out of practice, and it isn’t as natural to him as it is to Clark.
“Why’d you do that? Rub my back, I mean.” He looks flustered and a little flushed, and that look, on him, makes Lex want to tumble him to the floor and ravish him right there. Lex has to shake that thought off before he can speak without squeaking himself.
“I’m sorry if it distracted you, Clark. I thought you were moving comfortably enough now to not thrown off your stride by my demonstration. I suppose I should have warned you, as you are still a beginner. I apologize, Clark.” Lex can say that with all honesty, because he is sorry that he made Clark stumble. He sees nothing wrong with not apologizing for the enjoyment he took from that brief rub, feeling Clark’s muscles ripple under his hand before surprise had overtaken him.
“Demonstration? Demonstration of what?” Clark is looking forward to hearing the explanation for this, although it won’t explain the way he had felt when Lex’s hand had started moving against his back. Clark doesn’t think he can keep ignoring the strange sensations he’s been getting around Lex since these lessons had begun. He hadn’t felt anything remotely similar at the dance last year with Chloe, and she had pressed much closer than he and Lex were doing during these lessons.
“Of what to do when you have a nervous partner, of course. A soothing rub of the back can let her know that everything is okay and she can relax.”
“Oh. That makes sense, I guess. Why didn’t you do it for me that first day we danced together?”
Lex smiles slightly, enjoying Clark’s quick thinking. As he’s always known, his friend is naïve, not stupid. “First, you were supposed to be leading, not me, so my hands weren’t in a position to help you that way. Second, when I was in such a position, you were just learning to move with me. I didn’t want to throw off your concentration by adding a new movement. You wouldn’t want to do that to a partner new to a dance. I was just demoing what to do if the lady is worried about dancing in front of other people.” Lex has the feeling that this lie was going to come back and bite him in the ass some day. Sometime in the future, when he is watching Clark dance with a girl, and he starts stroking her back the way Lex just had, Lex want to kick himself for giving into the temptation to push the boundaries today.
“Okay, Lex. Do you mind, since we’ve stopped dancing anyway, if we take a quick break now? I want to use the bathroom. Then you can show me more helpful ways to get a girl to relax when we start again. Okay?” Clark really needed to get away from Lex for a few minutes. He has a growing problem that he wants to take care of before it gets too noticeable.
“Sure, Clark. Sounds good.” Lex thinks he’s in trouble. If Clark wants more ways to relax a girl, then Lex had better make his own trip to the facilities before they start the lesson again. Lex’s supposition at the beginning of the lessons had borne out, he was becoming much better acquainted with his left hand. Usually there is a session before Clark arrives, and then another after he leaves. Lex hasn’t had to do it while Clark was in the mansion since the first lesson, but that’s about to change. Lex can only look at it as justice though, for trying such a stunt with his younger friend in the first place. Lex can’t remember the last time he’d come so much and gotten so little satisfaction from it.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
By the end of the second week Lex is very impressed with how well Clark is doing. He decides to go ahead and have them switch roles. Actually, Lex knows that Clark has been ready to switch for almost a week, but Lex had been enjoying the status quo and was loathed to let go of his position as leader any sooner than he had to. Still, his enjoyment was not the purpose of these lessons, or at least not the sole purpose.
“Okay, Clark, remember to keep a firm frame when you hold me and maintain eye contact. Wait for the down beat, and…one, two, three, one, two, three…excellent. Much better, Clark, keep it up.” Lex stops counting and lets Clark just guide him around the floor a few times. His improvement really is astounding. Lex has a hard time reconciling this Clark to the one that had been stumbling over his own feet and stepping on Lex’s toes just two short weeks ago.
Clark is thrilled. He can feel the difference in how he’s moving, and how that difference makes keeping up with the music and leading his partner so much easier. After almost two weeks of following Lex, he feels he has a much better handle on leading with confidence. He also knows he can do the dance as the follower without falling all over himself, so switching to the lead position was just a matter of carrying over those moves, while also guiding Lex.
After one dance concludes successfully, Clark decides to really show how much he has improved, and surprise Lex with his initiative. After two measures of the next song passes, Clark starts to rub circles in the middle of his friend’s back. Only the reaction he gets isn’t the one he’d been expecting. Lex…stumbles! For the first time since their lessons began, Lex seems to lose control of his movements and stumbles into Clark.
Clark can’t understand it. Lex is always perfectly in control of his body, why would he stumble? Clark knew why he’d done so a week ago, he’d stumbled because he’d been surprised by the touch…no, that wasn’t quite right. It wasn’t the touch itself that made him stumble, it had been his reaction to it that made him lose his concentration and stagger into Lex. That thought mentally pulls Clark up short, and he looks at Lex in speculation. Maybe Clark isn’t the only one feeling these things. He starts to think about ways he can test his theory.
For now though, he had to say something to Lex. “Gosh, Lex, are you okay? You’ve never stumbled before.”
Lex had known that he was going to regret rubbing Clark’s back, but he hadn’t realized the consequences would come so soon or so directly affect him. Feeling Clark’s large hand in the middle of his sensitive back was torture enough, but when his friend started rubbing, his cock had gone from semi-hard to completely hard in seconds. The rush of blood downward had made him a little dizzy, hence the stumble into Clark.
Luckily, he was the master of the spin. “I’m fine, Clark. I’m just a little dizzy.” What the hell…why had he said that, there was no spin on there. It was practically the truth, except for the him being fine part. That was obviously a lie. A fine him would never have admitted to being dizzy. Lex figures this is bad. It means that Clark is affecting him even more than he’d realized, only…he isn’t sure what he can do about it. He’d promised the lessons and there was still two weeks to go. Lex isn’t sure if he’s going to survive it at this point. Even if he did survive, with the amount he’d been jerking off lately, he wasn’t sure that his cock wasn’t going to come off in his hand one of these days.
“Dizzy? That’s not good, Lex. Have you hit your head again recently?” In his concern, Clark activates his x-ray vision and scans Lex’s head, to check for signs of a concussion or fractures. With a friend who gets hurt as often as Lex, Clark knows the signs of a head injury very well. He doesn’t spot anything. He looks down in contemplation, but forgets to switch back to normal vision at first. As he looks to the ground, his vision sees the entire front of Lex’s body.
Clark blushes bright red at this sudden view of his best friend, but realizes that he doesn’t need to test his theory on whether Lex is feeling more than just friendship for him. He quickly turns away from Lex to hide his blush and to give himself a little time to regain control. He stumbles, as he still hasn’t switched his vision back. He does so right away, and manages to sit down on a nearby couch without falling into it, although it’s a near thing.
“I’m fine, Clark, but you appear to be having your own troubles right now, too.”
“Yeah, we’re quite a pair today.” Clark really needs to get out of here so he can think about this new development, and so he can take care of his own erection, which has hardened to a painful degree after seeing Lex’s. Luckily he has the perfect excuse for once, perfect because it’s true. “Maybe we should stop early, Lex. I have to go over to Erin’s for supper tonight. I’ll need a little extra time to clean up and get ready anyway.”
Lex looks up sharply at that announcement. What’s Clark doing, going over to that Jezebel-in-training’s house for a dinner? He thought he had more time to work with. “Dinner, Clark? I thought you were just going with her to help her out of a tough spot. Isn’t dinner a little…more serious?”
At this point, Clark just wants to get out of the mansion. He can’t seem to keep himself from switching back into x-ray vision and catching more glimpses of Lex. He isn’t sure he’s ever going to be able to look his friend in the eye again. Lex just said something though – what was it, oh right, dinner. “Um, yeah, normally I guess it’d be serious, but her parents just want to meet who she’ll be going out with for the night. Erin already explained it to me, and it makes perfect sense. Her parents just don’t want their daughter going out with someone they’ve never met. Her parents know that we’re just going as friends.”
Lex doesn’t believe that for a second, although he knows Clark does. Clark would never be that suspicious of a girl, or believe that she was carefully manipulating him. Lex recognizes the signs, though. He figures that he’d better step up his plans. “Okay, Clark. I think cutting the lesson short is probably for the best today. Tomorrow is Saturday anyway. We’ll be able to have a more involved session at that point.”
Clark swallows hard at the idea of a longer session so soon after his discovery, but Lex is doing this at his request and he can’t back out now. “Okay, Lex. I’ll see you tomorrow then.” Clark grabs his backpack from the couch he is sitting on and uses it as a shield as he gets up to hurry out.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
By the time the next lesson rolls around, Clark has a plan. He’s committed to going to this dance with Erin, so he’ll see it through. But after that, all bets are off. He wants Lex, he accepts that now. Because of his age though, Clark knows that Lex won’t make a move for another year or two, if at all. That just isn’t good enough. Clark’s decided that he has two weeks to break down Lex’s resistance, because after that, the dance lessons will be over. He won’t have an excuse to hold Lex anymore.
Clark knows he’ll be playing a dangerous game. His friend is much more experienced than he is, so Clark will have to be very subtle. He figures that one thing to work in his favor will be his perceived innocence. Yes, he’s inexperienced, to himself he can even admit to his virginity, but that didn’t mean he’s innocent. It’s a pretty hard thing to be in this day and age, with frank conversations about sex happening between his friends, on TV, and there was always the internet too. Clark had learned many interesting things last night after his dinner with Erin’s family was over, and he was back home in his room with the computer. He’d been very careful to wipe both the history and the cache before going to bed last night.
His dreams had been very vivid as a result of what he’d learned during his internet searches, and he’d had to do his own laundry early this morning. He’d come again in the shower while thinking of applying what he’d learned to Lex. He’d had to jerk off again a couple of hours later before he arrived at Lex’s as well. Clark figures that if he comes two or three times before a lesson and once during each break, then he should be able to remain in control of himself in Lex’s presence for the duration of the lessons. At this point he was really looking forward to the lessons being over. He wanted some practical experience with Lex, not just fantasies.
As the lessons progress, Lex begins teaching Clark some more steps, beyond the basics they had started with. Clark picks them up with remarkable speed, executing the Promenade with flair and the Whisk with panache. After several extremely successful lessons, Lex begins to teach him to mix up the combination of movements, to personalize it a little, so that the dance looks a little more natural and less like a learned formula.
Clark might be picking up the moves with alacrity, but Lex thinks that he is going to go insane with desire. Clark keeps practicing his backrub while dancing, he’s often holding Lex closer than is strictly necessary, and every once in a while, on a Spin Turn, Clark would fit his leg between Lex’s a little too high up. If he didn’t know better, he’d swear that Clark is doing it on purpose. Lex is becoming so well acquainted with his left hand these days, that it’s no longer a question of if something is going to fall off, but when.
Lex has taken to wearing his loosest pants during the lessons with Clark, and he’s becoming quite proud of his ability to continue dancing with a raging hard-on. He’s no longer trying to push any boundaries with Clark, because there don’t seem to be many left to push, and Lex doesn’t think he’ll be able to handle the additional hard-ons thinner barriers will cause.
About three lessons ago, Clark had seemed comfortable enough with his lead role and Lex introduced him to the art of conversation while dancing. This was another, actually legitimate, way to relax a nervous dance partner, not to mention polite. Lex had also been hoping that encouraging Clark to talk would help him forget the backrubs. It didn’t work.
Lex hadn’t thought there would be a drawback to simple conversation, but he’s finding he was wrong about that, too. Everything these days seemed to be about Erin. Now Clark is saying that they’d started to have lunch together every day. He stiffens every time he hears her name, it’s a reaction he can’t help. Luckily, he manages to keep the reaction subtle enough and Clark never picks up on it. However, Lex can’t keep his objection to the growing closeness between Lex and Erin to himself anymore.
“Clark!”
Clark startles at Lex’s tone and then grins to himself at the reaction he’s managed to wring from his normally controlled friend. “Yeah, Lex?”
“I thought you were just going to the dance with Erin to help her out. Why are you suddenly having lunch with her every day?”
“Well, she thought it’d be a good idea for us to know each other a little better so we’d have a few things to talk about during the dance. It’s so awkward to be on a date and have nothing to say. I thought she made sense, especially after you told me about having to talk during dances, too. So, we’ve been meeting for lunch every day during school.”
It’s all Lex can do to keep from grinding his teeth together. Everything he does during these lessons either makes him harder or helps to make Clark and Erin closer. The saving grace for him though, was the knowledge that Erin won’t be around much longer, and that there’ll be no Valentine’s Day Dance, or a waltz, for the conniving b…wit…no, he wasn’t censoring himself in his own head…bitch, definitely bitch.
“Wait, did you say date? When did this become a date, Clark?”
Clark has to hide another smile at the jealousy that Lex doesn’t quite manage to suppress. This is much better than the reactions he’s been getting whenever he mentions Erin’s name. Clark knows that Lex prides himself on not giving away how he’s feeling, but it’s never worked that well on Clark. Clark can usually figure out what Lex is trying to hide. Clark figures it’s because he watches the other man so much, he’s learned his body language pretty well.
“I figure I might as well call it a date, Lex. It seems silly not to. After all, I’m dressing up, learning to dance, picking her up, and going exclusively with her. That sounds like a date. What did some guy say, ‘if it acts like a duck, sounds like a duck, and moves like a duck, it’s a duck?’”
“That’s a proverb, Clark, and I understand your meaning, I’m just surprised you’ve started thinking like that. Usually you emphasize the friendship aspects of your relationships, especially when others refer to them as more.” Lex tries for nonchalant, and is pretty sure he’s pulled it off as he turns away to get himself a drink from the nearby bar.
“We’re still no more than friends, Lex, but I’ve decided not to worry about semantics. No one listens to those kinds of objections anyway. I know that it’s just a friendship date and Erin knows that it is too, that’s enough. I’m not going to worry about what anyone else thinks. People will figure it out when we don’t get together after the dance is over. Hey, I bet you’re relieved that this is the last lesson. You’ve really given a lot of your time on teaching me how to dance. I’ll come over on Saturday and let you know how it all went.”
Clark knows he’s glad everything was almost over. He really wanted this date to be done with, so he could concentrate on Lex properly. He’s continued doing a lot of research online and is feeling more than ready for the next step. He wants to hold Lex for much more than a dance when he comes over on Saturday. Erin’s a nice girl, but she isn’t Lex. She isn’t fascinating, challenging, brilliant, or sexy and Clark has discovered that’s what he wants.

Lex knows that today, February 13th, is the day that Erin is going to be out of Clark’s life for good. He waits for Clark to show up, so he can commiserate with his friend, and direct him back to the unmanipulative Lana or Chloe.
Only Clark doesn’t show up.
Maybe Clark doesn’t realize she’s gone for some reason. He’d probably show up after school on the 14th, so Lex prepares himself to sound sympathetic.
Only Clark doesn’t come.
Lex isn’t sure how Clark doesn’t realize that the girl is gone at this point, but it’s possible. Once the time of the dance arrives however, the fact of her disappearance will be unavoidable. Lex prepares himself to be surprised and shocked to hear Clark’s news.
The evening hour of eight o’clock, the start of the dance, comes and goes and still no Clark.
By ten o’clock Lex is absorbed in some paperwork he’s been neglecting and completely unprepared for the doors of his study to burst open.
Lex whips his head up and stares at the vision Clark makes, standing in the doorway, in a tux, with the hall lights illuminating him from behind. Lex feels his heart rate increase and his cock start to harden, but he’s gotten used to that over the last month.
He stands up slowly and moves around his desk as Clark comes further into the room. “Clark, what are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be tripping the light fantastic with Erin right now?”
“Funny thing, Lex. She isn’t around to trip with, now or any other time.”
“Oh? She stood you up? I’m sorry to hear that, especially after all the work you put in.”
“Thanks, Lex. That means a lot.” Clark heads to Lex’s stereo and starts flipping through the music nearby.
“Do you want to drown you sorrows in a root beer and play a game of pool while you’re here, Clark? We can take your mind off of your disappointment.” Lex watches Clark in curiosity, until the soft strains of a Viennese Waltz comes through the speakers.
“No, I’d rather have the dance I’m missing out on.” Clark strides to Lex, and, without giving him time to protest, sweeps him into his arms just in time to begin the dance.
Lex automatically starts to follow, feeling a little flummoxed at this turn of events. “Clark, I…why are we dancing? The lessons ended a few days ago and the purpose of them is gone anyway.”
“You’d think so, huh Lex? But the way I figure it, you owe me a dance since you got rid of my partner for the evening.” Clark did nothing to contain his grin as Lex stumbled against him at that assertion, and effortlessly kept him on his feet.
Lex is mystified. How could Clark know that he was involved? He’d been very careful to cover his tracks. “Clark, I don’t know what you’re talking about. I had nothing…”
“Don’t bother, Lex. I know all about it, and I don’t mind. I’m kind of flattered actually.”
Lex managed to keep himself from stumbling this time, but just barely. “Flattered! What…?”
“Erin happened to overhear the courier when he delivered the tickets and instructions to her father on the 12th. Her father tried to keep her out of school on the 13th, but Erin snuck out to tell me, she was so upset at missing the dance. Apparently her father got a very good job with a company in Germany. The only stipulations were that he could tell no one and he and his family had to be there by the 14th.”
Lex had been stiffening up more and more as Clark talked, until finally Clark stopped trying to keep them moving. However, he refused to let go of Lex. “I had my suspicions as soon as I heard the conditions of the job, but had Chloe do some checking for me. She confirmed that the company in Germany is a subsidiary of LuthorCorp.”
Clark, I…it’s not what you think. I….” For once, Lex isn’t sure what to say. However, Clark didn’t seem to be having that problem tonight.
“Oh? So it isn’t about you wanting to get me away from a manipulative girl? It isn’t about you being jealous of me talking so much about her lately? It isn’t about you wanting to get rid of yet another potential rival?”
Lex is flabbergasted as Clark spews forth everything Lex has been thinking about for the last month. He just stares at Clark, mouth open, completely at a loss for words. Being speechless is not improved by what Clark says and does next either.
Clark licks his lips and irrevocably commits himself to his next course of action. He really hopes he hasn’t gotten everything wrong or he’ll lose the best friend he’s ever had. “No worries, Lex. Like I said, I’m flattered. This month has been one of the hardest of my life – holding you so close during every lesson, but not being able to do any more. Do you have any idea how many times I’ve jacked off in the last four weeks? I always do it to thoughts of you now, I can’t think about anyone else, I’m not interested in anyone else, only you.”
Since he’d refused to release Lex while they talked, Clark still has one hand on Lex back. He uses that hand to pull Lex a little closer and lowers his mouth to cover his friend’s. He pushes against the seal of Lex’s lips a little and then starts sliding his tongue back and forth until Lex parts them with a surprised gasp.
Clark takes immediate advantage and plunges his tongue into the warm recesses of Lex’s mouth. Kissing is something Clark enjoys and is one of the few things he has some experience in, so he makes the most of it. He maps out Lex’s mouth with his tongue, learning all the dips and valleys, searching for all the tastes and textures he can find.
Lex moans into Clark’s mouth as a month’s worth of sexual frustration comes to a head. Clark has a steel arm wrapped around his back, so Lex can’t move forward or backward, although he definitely doesn’t want to move back, so Lex makes the most of what he can do and kisses Clark back as thoroughly as he can. He feels triumphant when he feels Clark lock his knees for support.
However, he’s thrown off balance again when Clark’s other hand slides around his back, glides down to his ass, and pulls Lex flush against his body. So flush, that Lex can clearly feel the sizable erection Clark is sporting. His own erection is pressed into Clark’s and both moan loudly into the other’s mouth.
Lex tears his mouth away from Clark’s and has to gasp for a couple of breaths before he can get any words out. “Jesus, Christ, Clark! You can’t have jerked off any more than I have this month. If you’re sure, if this is what you want, then let’s take this to the couch.” Clark, strong and obedient as ever, complies, and Lex soon finds himself straddling the lap of his very aroused friend. That was acceptable to him though, since he’s just as turned on.
“God, Clark! What do you want?” Lex doesn’t wait for an answer, just starts to bite kisses along Clark’s jaw, sucking on his earlobe, mouthing down to his neck.
Clark can barely talk through the sensual assault. “Lex! Wanted…all month…skin…mouth…pleeease!”
Lex doesn’t need any more encouragement than that. He slides off Clark’s lap, smoothes his hands under his soon-to-be lover’s ass, and pulls him forward to the edge of the couch. He stares up at Clark’s face as he reaches for the fastening on Clark’s trousers, and sees his head fall back against the back of the couch. However, he can still feel the weight of Clark’s stare through slitted eyes as he reaches into the open pants and pulls out Clark’s cock.
He stares at the engorged member for several seconds, watching a bead of precome form at the tip. He watches until he hears Clark whimper with need and then leans forward and licks the precome off, savoring the taste as it explodes on his tongue.
He watches as Clark clenches his fists on his thighs and cants his hips forward in a blatant attempt to get Lex’s mouth on his cock. Lex isn’t about to make him wait for it any longer. Lex doesn’t want to wait any longer himself, he want that cock in his mouth now. He surges forward and swallows repeatedly, until Clark’s cock is all the way down his throat.
Lex knows that Clark won’t last long, this first time, and he wants to be sure he can feel the entirety of Clark’s length before Clark comes. He swallows continually, massaging Clark’s cock with the muscles of his throat until Clark yells and starts coming in spurt after spurt. Lex pulls back a little so he can get some of the taste on his tongue. He makes sure Clark is completely clean before pulling away and licking his lips.
Watching Lex lick his own lips clean of come, makes something inside of Clark snap and he pulls Lex up into his lap and crashes their lips together, searching out his own taste in Lex’s mouth.
When Lex understands what Clark is doing, he moans and opens wider, giving Clark better access for what he wants. He jerks in Clark’s lap, when he feels Clark’s hand sliding down and giving his cock a gentle squeeze. “God, Clark! Yes!”
Lex’s words galvanize Clark into action. In one move, he turns them both, slips Lex under him, and pulls Lex’s pants down to his ankles. Lex’s cock slaps against his stomach at the suddenness with which it’s freed from its constraints, and the sensation makes Lex moan.
Clark stares at Lex’s cock, feeling a little intimidated by what he’s thinking of doing. His worries vanish though when Lex speaks up.
Lex can see that Clark is feeling a little overwhelmed by what’s happening. He raises himself up on his elbows, puts his hand in Clark’s hair, and strokes for a few moments. “Don’t worry about it, Clark. You don’t have to do that. There are a lot of options.”
Clark doesn’t say a word, and Lex begins to feel a little worried, until Clark’s opens his mouth, lowers his head, and sucks in one of Lex’s balls. Lex yells at the sudden wet heat engulfing his tender flesh and collapses to his back as Clark transfers his attention to the other ball. Lex lets his legs fall open a little more, to give Clark more room to move. When he does, Clark does his best to suck in both of Lex’s balls at once. Lex can feel his orgasm building and is afraid that he’ll come before ever feeling Clark’s talented, oh so talented, mouth on his cock.
“Clark, please, your mouth, take me in your mouth.”
Lex has to clamp down on a surge of lust when Clark hums around his balls and then pops them out of his mouth.
He props himself up on his elbows and watches as Clark laves his way across Lex’s groin and Lex almost sobs in relief when his cock is finally taken into that beautiful, cocksucker’s mouth. He can’t resist surging forward once and Clark moans around him. The shock of Clark liking that, plus the vibrations of the moan, almost makes Lex come right then. He manages to stave off the orgasm by the strength of his will, but it’s a near thing.
Watching Clark carefully, Lex pushes his hips forward again and watches in awe as Clark simply opens his mouth wider to take it. The angle isn’t quite right to really fuck Clark’s mouth though, but he’ll definitely remember that Clark likes it. For now though, he really needs to come. “Move, Clark! Suck me now!”
Clark doesn’t need to be told twice. He rubs his tongue over the head of Lex’s cock, cleaning off more precome, and then takes as much of Lex into his mouth as he can. He wishes he knew how to do what Lex had done for him, but based on the noises above his head, Lex didn’t mind his lack of technique. Clark starts sucking as hard as he dares and Lex shouts and floods his mouth with come.
When he’s certain Lex’s aftershocks are over and his cock is all cleaned off, Clark moves further up the couch and gathers Lex in his arms. Their bodies fit together so well that Clark knows that this was meant to be.
Clark cuddles into Lex, burrowing his face into his lover’s neck and taking a deep breath. Lex’s scent surrounds him and the smell of sex is heavy in the air. Clark wants to savor every last second of this experience, so he never forgets it. “This was a much better Valentine’s Day than the one I thought I was going to have, Lex.”
Lex lets himself be wrapped in Clark’s strong arms, even though he has never been a cuddler before. He has the feeling that many things are going to be different with Clark in his life. “Glad I could oblige, Clark. Glad I could oblige.”
